What is true success for you?
Does wisdom have a divine nature? What is wisdom's role in your World's creation? Do you make wise decisions?
As active participants in mess and order creation, we often dismiss wisdom as a guiding principle. When we make decisions without wisdom, we end up in a mess. When we tap into the wisdom that created the universe, we likely create something good and tangible.
The pursuit of wisdom is the cultivation of a lifestyle that makes life rewarding. The more we embrace wisdom we become joy to others. True listening requires active listening and effort in real-life situations. It is not always easy to make wise decisions, like standing up against something wrong or choosing the path of least resistance.
What does it look like to live a wise life?
Proverbs 8 gives us a biography of Wisdom
The key is to learn from our mistakes and find wisdom, so we can flourish in every aspect of our lives. To have a flourishing spiritual life is not only about being smart or successful but also about using the wisdom of creation to be the compass of our lives.
The pursuit of wisdom is to lead us into the ever-lasting wonders of life.
I came across Proverbs 8 this past week, and it spoke volumes about my prayer journey and the difficulties I had to face. Also, gave me a tremendous amount of Hope to look forward to after a battle season. I hope this blesses you as well.
Proverbs presents two poles of female imagery, a woman's wisdom describes herself as God's confidante in creation (Proverbs 8) and the opposition is the destroyer, a loose woman, a seducer of life (Proverbs 7). The Hebrew word AMON (master crafts) communicates childlike wonder amid God's creative activity. Wisdom is a beacon of righteousness, justice, and joy. Her instructions lead to the flourishing of all creation as she calls upon us to embody wisdom, she offers life, wholeness, well well-being who seek it.
Wisdom’s Call
8 Does not wisdom call out? Does not understanding raise her voice?2 At the highest point along the way, where the paths meet, she takes her stand;3 beside the gate leading into the city, at the entrance, she cries aloud:11 for wisdom is more precious than rubies, and nothing you desire can compare with her.
13 To fear the Lord is to hate evil; I hate pride and arrogance, evil behaviour and perverse speech.14 Counsel and sound judgment are mine; I have insight, I have power.15 By me kings reign and rulers issue decrees that are just;16 by me princes govern, and nobles—all who rule on earth.[b]17 I love those who love me, and those who seek me find me.18 With me are riches and honour, enduring wealth and prosperity.19 My fruit is better than fine gold; what I yield surpasses choice silver.20 I walk in the way of righteousness, along the paths of justice,21 bestowing a rich inheritance on those who love me and making their treasuries full.
22 “The Lord brought me forth as the first of his works,[c][d] before his deeds of old;35 For those who find me find life and receive favour from the Lord.36 But those who fail to find me harm themselves; all who hate me love death.”
Accepting the correct wisdom invitation can take you far down a flourishing path. I hope this inspires you.
