November Contemplations and Inspirations; The Cosmic Egg

Always a good day to be grateful for something. I came across an indigenous leader’s message yesterday, which hit the spot; I feel to share it is very appropriate today.

“When an egg breaks from an outside force, life ends; when an egg cracks from an inside force, life begins” (Peter White, 2022).

How powerful is it? I invite you to contemplate this quote and what it means to you.

How I translate this; everything happens in divine timing; if it is forceful and the creation process is interrupted by outside forces, it can end the “egg’s” journey before really taking off. Creation stories of ancient traditions used to link the egg to the creation of the universe, suggesting that the Earth itself may have been born out of an egg.

So, I invite you to be patient with your projects, becoming, and creations!

Are you allowing yourself to rest? Can you afford to take an hour a day aside to self-care, to snooze the World and its demands?

Sweet November is the time to gather our forces and give them the last push before genuinely coming to stillness. My academic journey paused, and my brain and I are on sabbatical. During the Spring/Summer/Winter breaks before the semesters were pausing, I had a problem, a considerable problem to pause. The intensity of School and the demands are enormous, so my body took a week to slow down after exam season, it was such a miserable week, structures dismantling, which you have to rebuild, or just allow yourself to do nothing.

What happens to us while we are on a break? We integrate and reintegrate ourselves; we become passive and invite inner silence. We are in the mud, reflecting on our relationships and our place in the World. As uncomfortable as this can be, as valuable as this time is in the journey of self-actualization. The beautiful lotus flower grows out of the mud! This is the good news, a necessary pause is often a painful reflection, but the power, the energy that drives the lotus petals to open, forces sweet Blossoming.
