Love Like you have Never been Hurt Before
Daily Devotionals for the Week
What is a Devotional?
A devotional is not designed to
change your mind; it’s meant to
change your heart. Devotion is
loyalty and love or care for
someone or something.
The words you’ll read are alive and
heal, I hope you enjoy it
With the Love of God,
meditate on the lines below,
and let them sink in.
“Brothers and sisters, I do not consider myself yet to
have taken hold of it. But one thing I do: Forgetting
what is behind and straining toward what is ahead”
Philippians 3:13
Day One
You will never get ahead Trying to Get Even
When you've been wronged, poor memory is
your best response.
Have you ever noticed how a jeweller shows his
best diamonds? He sets them against a black
velvet backdrop. The contrast of the Jewels
against the dark background accentuates their
lustre.
In the same way, when things seem the most
hopeless, God does his most stunning work!
Day Two
Love Wins - All the Time
Love is the answer to the broken home, love is
the answer to the addict. Love is the answer to a
fractured relationship. Love is the answer to
being offended. Love can shatter division and
rebuild what has been broken.
What is happening in your life right now that
tests you in the way you love?
The one you love the most can hurt you the
most. Love them anyway!
"Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does
not boast, it is not proud. 5 It does not dishonour
others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it
keeps no record of wrongs. 6 Love does not delight in
evil but rejoices with the truth. 7 It always protects,
always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres."
Corinthians 13:4-7
Day Three
Keep Score vs Losing Count
One of the most powerful lessons Jesus ever
taught was forgiveness.
“How often should I
forgive someone who sins against me? Seven
times?” Jesus said “No not seven times. Seventy
times seven.
” (490x)
Well, there is a lot of forgiveness to do.
Inevitably, we are going to get hurt, and let
down. Forgiveness is not about keeping scores
but about losing count.
Then Peter came to Jesus and asked,
“Lord, how many times shall
I forgive my brother or sister who sins against me? Up to seven
times?”
22 Jesus answered,
“I tell you, not seven times, but seventy-seven
times.
Matthew 18:21
Day Four
Learn to Love Yourself First
“Instead of Shame, you will enjoy a double
share of honour”
God wants to restore you, all that you have
lost. He wants to reconcile you to the
Kingdom, and invite you to sit at his table.
once we grasp the truth of grace, not only does
it empowers us to forgive, but to forgive and
love everyone, including yourself.
“I have loved you with an everlasting love, I have drawn you with
unfailing kindness.
4 I will build you up again, and you, Virgin Israel, will be rebuilt.
Again you will take up your timbrels, and go out to dance with the
joyful.
5 Again you will plant a vineyard, on the hills of Samaria;
the farmers will plant them and enjoy their fruit.
Jeremiah 31:3
Day Five
Don’t give up on God because he never gives
up on you!
God is not in the business of replacing
damaged people. God is in the business of
fixing people. He wants to heal us, he wants to
transform us. It bothers him to see us not
living a life he wanted for us. And he can not
wait for you to turn to him to ask for his help!
I will lead the blind by ways they have not known,
along unfamiliar paths I will guide them;
I will turn the darkness into light before them
and make the rough places smooth.
These are the things I will do;
I will not forsake them.
Isaiah 42:16
Day Six
The Dirtiest battle is your greatest Victory
You may be facing a stronghold in your life,.
Maybe you are trying to save your marriage.
Maybe you are trying to salvage a relationship
with a wayward adult child. Maybe you facing a
battle with your health. However big and
impossible things look like right now, God can set
you free. He can raise your family up from the
depths of bitterness shame and unforgiveness.
I don
’t know how dirty your battle has gotten. But
I do know, that this is the very place God will be
glorified the most in your Life!
In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that they may see
your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven.
Matthew 5:16

another we are going to get hurt, betrayed, shamed, or

opposition will make you pray, opposition will make you
come to God and increase your faith. You may need to
start seeing those who offended you as an opportunity for
God to take you higher!
